IETE Students’ Forum (ISF), inaugurated by Dr. S. Arivazhagan, Prof. And Head / Department of ECE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi and Chairman, IETE Sivakasi Sub-Center on 20th March 2009, is functioning in ECE department of our college. All the II year and III year ECE students are members in this forum.
The IETE Students’ Forum shall have the following broad objectives:
- To plan and organize technical programmes and activities, such as special lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, exhibition, etc. for the benefits of student members on a regular basis.
- To provide a common platform for the student members to exchange ideas and information on curriculum, employment, higher educational opportunities, emerging trends, new developments, etc.

| IETE Students’ Day was celebrated on 28/2/2011. |

- Mr. P.K. Ramesh, Branch Head, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Madurai participated as Chief Guest and delivered guest lecture on “Drives and PLCs”.
- A Quiz contest on “Basic electronics” was conducted to our students and 1st and 2nd prizes were given to II year and III year students separately.
- A ROBO demonstration by our students using “Robosapien” (Flowering to God and Picking & placing waste bag in dust bin) was performed.
- A product demo on “Electrical drives, Controls, Sensors, Timers, Counters and Switch gears” was also arranged. Mr. D. Venkatesh, Partner, Sree Ayyapa Traders, Sivakasi and Mr. K.Selvinraj, L&T Limited, Madirai explained the functions and applications of industrial controls to the students.

| AAVISHKAAR’11 |
| IETE Students’ Forum of Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi organized a National level programme named AAVISHKAAR’11 on 7/9/2011 at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College campus. Around 150 students from various engineering colleges participated in the programme. 10 ISF members (III year ECE students) of our college attended the programme. |
- Selvan. A Haresh Kumar and Selvan. S. Kartheeswaran presented a paper on “Spintronics”.
- Selvan. S. Rajesh and Selvan. T. Udayakumar won the II prize in the project display competing 17 projects displayed by various engineering college students.

- Paper presentation contests in the topics “E-waste Management in India”, “ICT for rural development” and “Green Electronics” were conducted.
- A Quiz contest on “Basic electronics” was conducted to all the II year and III year ECE students.

- Mr. S. Selva Nithyanthan, M.E., Asst. Prof. / ECE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasiparticipated in the Valedictory function as Chief Guest and addressed the students on the topic “E-waste Management and Green Electronics”. Robot operated by the students welcomed the Guest with bouquet. Prizes and Certificates were presented to the winners of paper presentation contests and Quiz competition.

- Mr. T. Sabapathy, M.E., Asst. Prof. / ECE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi delivered a Guest lecture to the members on the topic “Optical Fiber Communication” on 8/9/2012.

- Mr. K. Gopalakrishnan, M.E., Asst. Prof. / ECE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi delivered a Guest lecture to the members on the topic “Basics of Instrumentation” on 8/9/2012.
